The Vision

This kitchen exemplifies how thoughtfully layered lighting transforms a functional workspace into a sophisticated environment that adapts seamlessly from meal preparation to entertaining. The design challenge was creating distinct lighting zones—each serving a specific purpose while working harmoniously together—to ensure the kitchen feels equally welcoming whether you're prepping dinner at midday or hosting friends in the evening.

Design & Installation

Through our Lighting Design Package, every lighting layer was strategically planned to address both practical needs and aesthetic goals. Our designers worked through detailed consultations, electrical walks, and on-site installation oversight to ensure each fixture placement, beam angle, and dimming option was precisely calibrated to the kitchen's architecture and workflow.

The dramatic Z-Lite cage pendants suspended over the island provide focused task lighting for food preparation while serving as sculptural focal points that anchor the space visually. Their open framework allows light to spread both downward onto the work surface and outward into the room, contributing to the overall ambient illumination. Nora trimless recessed cans throughout the ceiling deliver uniform general lighting that eliminates shadows and highlights the clean lines of the cabinetry.

American Lighting tape light is integrated beneath upper cabinets, providing shadow-free task lighting across countertops and backsplash areas—essential for safe, effective food preparation. Additional tape light illuminates the glass-front display cabinets, creating visual depth and highlighting decorative items. Perhaps most striking is the toe-kick lighting along the island base, which adds a luxurious floating effect while providing subtle ambient light for nighttime navigation. The result is a kitchen where every lighting element serves a purpose, creating a space that's as beautiful as it is functional.
